By properly designing and installing the seals and shields, it helps to ensure cleanliness and improve the wear resistance of the bearing.
The difference between seals and shields
The seal is a contact-type closing part that is used to keep the inside of the bearing, the lubricant does not run off and prevents foreign substances from entering the bearing. It is sealed and installed on the outer ring and in direct contact with the inner ring.
The shield is a closed part for the same purpose as a seal, but it does not directly contact the inner ring.
An integral seal or shield can be used to achieve a very compact design, which can provide early protection for the bearing during and after installation.
For the JU series, the width of the bearing needs to be increased after the shield or seal is assembled. The width of the JA, JB and JG series is the same as that of the open bearing after the shield or seal is assembled.
When the weight and space are tight, we can provide you with single-sided sealed/shielded bearings.
