Stainless steel bearings

Compared with GCr15 bearings, the stainless steel bearing works stably, with low noise, corrosion resistance and wide application.

Common stainless steels are austenitic and martensitic. The main feature of austenitic stainless steels is high corrosion resistance. The most common grades are 304 and 316 (or marine grade) stainless steels, and its load capacity is about half of 52100 bearing steel bearings which is mainly used for non-load bearing parts. But because of its high corrosion resistance and tensile strength, this grade is very common in marine environments and applications where caustic agents are used, such as salt water, acids, liquids and other harmful solutions.

The carbon content of martensitic stainless steels has increased which made this type bearing with higher strength, but at the same time reduces their corrosion resistance. The common grade is the 400 series, which has about 80% of the load capacity of 52100/GCr15 bearing steel. The corrosion resistance of 440C is not as good as other stainless steel, while proper lubrication and sealing will help the rolling elements resist corrosion.

Advantages of Stainless steel ball bearing from QIBR:
1. Excellent corrosion resistance: not easy to rust and have strong corrosion resistance.
2. can run on the liquid: due to the materials used, the bearings can work in corrosive media such as sea, river, distilled water, dilute nitric acid, marine climate, steam, etc.
3. Temperature resistance: can be used in the environment of -60°C~+300°C
4. Washable: it can be washed down without having to re-lubricate to prevent rusting punishment.
